The Pacific Northwest and British Columbia are home to some of the world’s leading climate research institutions. A number of new projects and initiatives centered around a broad range of climate related topics are underway or currently in planning.

This conference is a joint effort of several research institutions and federal and state government agencies from throughout the region to organize the most comprehensive conference to date on the science of climate variability and change in the Pacific Northwest.

Topics and Abstracts

This is an open science conference. Abstracts were submitted on a wide range of topics, including:

  • Climate in the PNW: Past, Present, Future
  • Climate Impacts on: Hydrology & Fresh Water; Terrestrial/Aquatic/Marine Species & Ecosystems; Managed Resources & Human Systems
  • Greenhouse Gas Sinks & Fluxes
  • Human Responses & Policy Initiatives

A program committee will select submitted abstracts for their suitability and novelty. Depending on response rate, some abstracts will be accepted for a poster presentation. Please note that the maximum poster dimensions are 120cm x 170cm. Tacks and/or tape will be available for poster mounting. Posters may be hung in Hoffman Hall from 5:30-7:00pm on Monday, June 14.

The deadline for registration is 11:59PM Wednesday, June 9.

Cost: $40 (students free)

Lodging
A block of rooms has been reserved at the University Place Hotel near the PSU campus at $89 per night plus tax. Hotel information and reservations information. Mention OCCRI when reserving. Cutoff date for room reservations at this rate is May 14.

The conference will be held at Hoffman Hall on the Portland State University campus (map here).
