Research Theme: Evaluating ornamental plants for western Oregon landscapes in search of those that exhibit tolerance of heat and drought without added summer water or fertilizer. The goal is to develop a palette of plants, particularly evergreen groundcovers, which require minimal inputs after establishment and can be used in “low-input” landscapes.
